Kenny studied photojournalism at Syracuse University and at the Defense Information School at Ft. Meade, Md. He earned a combat action badge for performing the duties of a combat photojournalist in Afghanistan, one of many countries in which he served during his 13 years as a U.S. Air Force photojournalist. He's won the Military Photographer of the Year and also recognized by NPPA. He currently is a staff photographer for the New York Times.
