I was at Costco the other day and saw a man in his 60s or 70s driving a Tesla with a sticker on his back window. It was Elon Musk’s name in a circle — crossed out.

I chuckled.

I drive a Nissan, and I couldn’t care less about what Nissan’s CEO thinks about society or politics. But it’s a sign of our times that a growing number of Americans feel they need to agree with the people who sell them things.

But if they ever truly stopped and thought about it, they’d realize that thinking like that would leave them with a lot less to buy. Start with your phone. Work through your house. Do the research and see how far you get.
