Being an introvert in your day to day life can be difficult enough, but being an introvert in the workplace can sometimes feel intolerable. Even the simple act of eating lunch can lead to you being labeled "anti social" or "stuck up". Not participating in after work events, such as "company happy hours", which aren't mandatory but your presence is expected, can (unfairly) lead to negative impacts on your job/career and have you labeled as "not a team player". Being a social butterfly doesn't always equate to being a good worker, and introverts have just as much to bring to the table as their more extroverted co-workers. Hopefully, employers will realize this one day soon.
