Contemplating great artwork is a good thing to do as well.   Father Chris Walsh recommends In Conversation with God by Francis Fernandez-Carvajal, The Catechism of The Catholic Church, the writings of the Saints and even Jesus of Nazareth by Pope Benedict 16 for Lectio Divina.
