With the hashtag #CLOSETHECAMPS trending recently, I found it imperative to record an episode on the Uyghur Crisis occurring right now in northwest China. In this episode, we learn more about who the Uyghurs are, what is going on in their native region of Xinjiang, and most importantly, how we can help in this crisis.

For the past few years, the Uyghur Islamic minority of China has been the subject to a plethora of human rights abuses and systematic discrimination by the Chinese government.  Through torture, extrajudicial killings, forced disappearances, and violations of religious beliefs and practices, the Uyghurs have witnessed a complete loss of their way of life. International leaders have done little to nothing to prevent these horrific abuses and this crisis has also failed to be a focal point of coverage by international news outlets. They have become current victims of destructive and repressive policies which the Chinese government continually denies and thus, it is ever important to do all we can to shed light on what is happening and be agents of change in ending these atrocities.
