In this week's episode, James is joined by Kerry Stott - a mental health nurse, author, men's mental health advocate and feminist.
Kerry brings her near 20 years of experience of working with mental health patients to shed some light on the challenges that many men are currently facing in listening to the conversations around male violence towards women.
Speaking of the need to use both compassion and accountability, Kerry shares her insights into how toxic shame within men stifles their ability to empathise with the suffering women have experienced, and how this prevents those same men from doing their own healing.
She also discusses how the topic of consent goes far beyond that of sexual consent in the bedroom, and how some new, compassionate focused therapy treatments may hold the key for supporting almost any mental health conditions.
A very big thank you to Kerry for coming on the podcast - we can't wait to have you on again soon.
