Presenting a nuanced response to Harris’s point Chloé acknowledge that the Bible does contain passages that appear to endorse slavery, but also argue that the Bible is not a static doctrine and contains other scriptures that question and challenge the idea of slavery. She suggest that the Bible’s stance on slavery is paradoxical rather than contradictory, and cite examples of biblical scriptures that were used by abolitionists in America.
