In this first part, Jon talks about the initial world-building that went into the first two books. Spliced and Splintered address issues like genetic engineering, political turmoil, severe climate change, loss of biodiversity, and a global pandemic. Learn about what type of research is needed to build a believable new world, how the series evolved to reflect new technologies and social issues, and how some of the series’ true-to-life aspects were completely coincidental.
