In September 2020, American actors Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) and Rob McElhenney announced their intention to buy Wrexham AFC, a Welsh Professional Football club. 'Welcome to Wrexham' is an American sports documentary series, documenting the events as told by the club's owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
Ben Tozer is current Wrexham Centre Back and Club Captain. He joined Wrexham on 27 August 2021. He signed a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee In the 2022–23 season from Cheltenham, where he went on to earn a place in the National League Team of the Year
