The rapid and unexpected counteroffensive by Ukraine’s forces has redefined the shape of the war, with mass graves being found around Izyum, and Putin scrambling to mobilize 100,000s of troops which saw Russians fleeing in response. Not to mention the renewed threat of nuclear war. Lesia Vasylenko joined Pyotr to address these and questions including:

Pyotr was joined by Lesia Vasylenko, Ukraine MP of the Voice/Holos Party in the 9th Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada. Lesia is also a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Unions Bureau of Women’s Parliamentarians, and founder of the Legal Hundred, a human rights NGO. During the discussion, Lesia based in Kyiv, mentions that air raid sirens are going on around her, illustrating the very real threat she faces daily, alongside so many Ukrainians from the Russian forces.
