Kerri Jones wore her fear as a protective shell, as if turning away from anything dark would cause it to disappear. But then, in 2018, the worst thing she could imagine happened when her 22-year-old daughter, Mikaela, passed away unexpectedly. Even though Kerri, her husband Johnny, and their son Alex were left in a stunned state of disbelief and grief, they immediately began receiving communication from Mikaela to let them know she was still with them.
