The consumer driven church of today is not a church of disciples, devoted to Christ and the work of the ministry.  The consumer driven model caters only to the needs of those in the pew.  Servanthood is gone out the door as this model hires the best preachers, worship leaders and ministers to do the work of the ministry, instead of the body doing the work.
