Show notes
I’m joined this week by fellow ex Mormon and writer, Lindsay Helm, who is currently writing a memoir of her experiences transitioning out of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (aka Mormonism) and learning to live authentically. Lindsay discusses the sense of belonging she found within the Church as a teenager, when she was baptized and officially became a member. She talks about her role as a woman in the Church and how it affected her marriage with her husband, as well as how she felt when her husband approached her about “taking a break” from the religion they both belonged to and were married in. We chat about her writing process and what her upcoming book means to her, now living bravely and authentically as herself. Lindsay’s words are powerful and moving, I have no doubt you’ll want to run out and buy her book the moment it is released after hearing this episode!
