Ahiru no Sora is no Kuroko no Basket, but on a real life perspective its much more relatable. DON'T GET ME WRONG THOUGH, they are both great! Just depends on what you're looking for. 

If you're looking for supernatural movements with that shonen feel, then Kuroko is great. But if you're looking for some depth to characters in a more relatable environment Ahiru might be for you.

The three best ways to put this anime are heart felt moments, beginner player struggles and learning deal with loss. Give it a shot if you haven't yet. Some episodes may be stretched but its 100% worth.
