Melissa Mark-Viverito is a Puerto Rican Democratic politician and former speaker of the New York City Council from 2014 to 2017, as well as councilmember for the 8th district from 2006 to 2017. Mark-Viverito is currently running for election to the U.S. House to represent New York's 15th Congressional District.
