A talk about Gwinnett County’s school safety plans. Joining us was Major Kirk Williamson, of Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department and Lt. Tony Lockard, of Gwinnett County School Police.<br /><br />Alan Kaplan and I had an hour-long conversation that touched on existing programs to keep our kids safe, train teachers and students in safety measures for severe weather, violence, and other dangers. We also discussed issues surrounding: arming teachers and staff, “hardening” schools, legislation, campus carry and more.
