Scott interviews Ashtyn Taylor is a pre-med student at the University of Texas who lives in Dallas and she used the internet to find an ICE detention center in McAllen, Texas called “Ursula.” Ashtyn volunteered and give first aid to refugees nearby that center and she told the Dworkin Report about detainee’s stories of ICE’s abuse of detained immigrants. She details the squalid conditions and her personal experience comforting a child with a serious case of the chicken pox, that caused panic among all involved that it could spread.This is Part 1 of her story.
