Our series on the "Universal Monsters" has finally started and to kick it off we have an infamous Phantom. A being that carries a haunted heart of tales, inhabiting the opera's underground, and crafting the works of murder and mayhem to claim what every sentient monster seeks, love. The Phantom gives us an entire new meaning of the expression "love can drive you mad" which shows how far some will go to achieve their most desired. Matthew and Josh break down the first film in their series that show you the horror monsters that started it all, and the movies that changed the course of horror history as we know it. Follow us as we walk you through this movie's production and the stars that gave life to these beloved abominations. We hope you find the appreciation as we did and have a new found respect and perspective when it comes to cinema, especially the ones that some believe have been forgotten as time has no mercy. Thank you all for attending class today. Your homework for next week will be Bela Lugosi's 1931 horror film, Dracula. Currently in public domain, The Phantom Of The Opera (1925) can be found on YouTube as well as other sites. A link will be below. Stay safe and healthy and you will hear from us again soon.
