Start with "Why"
Why does the business exist?
Why do they operate in this way?
Why did they franchise?
By doing this you can learn whether a business or brand aligns with your own values.
It's vitally important if you're considering investing your own money into a franchise license. That's why learning Founder's stories should be an essential step you should conduct in your research while doing due diligence on a franchised brand.
We talk about this more with Simon Bartholomew, Franchise Director of Oscar Pet Foods & Non-Exec Director for the British Franchise Association, in the latest episode of #TheDisenfranchised.
We also discuss:
- How even large franchised brands are full of local people giving back to the local community
- The difference between brands in the same sector
- Honest label policies
- The BFA accreditation and what it means in your franchise research
- Where franchisors make money
- Responsibilities between franchisor and franchisees
