Shaka D. Cakes is a rapper based out of Southern California. Growing up in a musical family, Shaka D. Cakes always knew that wherever life took him, he was going to follow the music. Finally after listening to the lyrical fluency of N.O.R.E. and BlackDot (from the Roots), Shaka D. Cakes found his passion for rap: or delivering music in a way that allowed him to touch base with his own history and culture in a way that gave him a stronger connection to who he was than any other activity ever had before. 

On the cusp of his upcoming album and after the recent explosion of his song "Raw Dogs Go To Heaven," Shaka and I discussed how Shaka pursued this connection as well as a few marketing ploys on how to reach that next level in the world of entertainment.
