The Counts Capponi family has made wine in Greve-in-Chianti in the center of Chianti Classico, since 1524 and started bottling in 1950s. Conte Sebastiano Capponi and his brother, Niccolò, took over estate management in 1992. Since 2014 the vineyards have been certified organic with 75 acres planted, including a few rarer varieties.
