Terry Fox (born July 28, 1958—died June 28, 1981) Canadian activist, a national hero and an inspiration for those who battle against cancer. He lost one his leg due to cancer. 

Through his Marathon of Hope event across Canada he raised millions of dollars for cancer research. For this he ran 5,374 km with one artificial leg.
