World Blood Donor Day is celebrated on 14 June each year. This is to raise global awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products for transfusion. It may help patients suffering from life-threatening conditions to recover and to live a better life. This day is also used to thank the voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life saving gifts of blood.
