This is an extra special episode because Kaitlin sits down on the actual Comeback Couch with her mom, Christy, ahead of Mother’s Day.

Christy has so many powerful comeback stories and is the definition of an overcomer.

She talks about the defeating words a school employee spoke over her when she got pregnant with Kaitlin in high school and how she has used that for good to speak life over the kids she now works with at the very same school.

They also talk about Christy’s difficult childhood, caring for her own mother after a stroke, suffering through her mother’s pill addiction, and eventually being the one to find her mother overdosed a few days before Christmas 16 years ago.

Kaitlin and her mom have a strong bond and it’s easy to see that her mom is a fighter and gives all the glory to God for that fight inside of her.

We want to wish all the moms a Happy Mother’s Day and acknowledge the ones grieving today over the loss of a mom or the distant relationship with a mom. We are also praying for the ones desperate to become a mother. We see all of you and sit with you in the pain. We hope today can be a day of reflection, celebration, or silence – whatever you need it to be.
