Jillian and Kaitlin chat about how to reconcile with the way life actually is rather than the way we thought it would be.
As the mom of a son with down syndrome, Jillian has not only become an advocate for children with disabilities but has also learned how her own way of thinking had her looking at life in a way that lacked surrender to God.
She and Kaitlin bonded over their time as broadcast journalists and dug into what it means to remove your worth from your resume. Jillian also talks about her debut book, The Gift of the Unexpected.
Jillian is a former journalist and news anchor. As a freelance writer, her essays about living an unexpected life have appeared on sites such as TODAY, Good Morning America, Yahoo! News, and ABC News. Jillian regularly advocates for the full inclusion of people with disabilities in her writings, in her community, and as a part of the National Down Syndrome Congress’s NationalDown Syndrome Advocacy Coalition. Jillian and her husband, Andy, and their three children make their home on Florida’s Space Coast.
