Season One – A Yank Down Under

Somehow I found out that they were looking for people to be spear carriers for a Russian opera that was coming to the Melbourne International Festival. 

I’d never considered doing anything like that, but a gig’s a gig, so I put my hand up. 

It was one of the most bizarre things I’ve ever done. 

Before it was over, it nearly became an international incident. 

John Howard and Vladimir Putin got involved. 

It also turned out to be very revealing.
