Segment 1:
Interview with Phillip Bormann, Chief Administrator at Holy Family Catholic Schools (HFCS).
K-12 had approximately 1580 students in 2022, up 2% from previous year. Expect additional 85 students next year, up another 5%. Class sizes are approximately 20 students.
Education Savings Accounts (ESA) of Iowa: Money goes to families. Parents have control. Each child has an account of $7600 per year for tuition and books.
Tuition is $5400 for Holy Family K-5 schools
Need to qualify for education savings accounts based on parental income

Segment 2:
Some opposition to Iowa ESA's was fear of public school degradation.
Parish contributions of over $4M per year to HFCS has reduced tuition.
Student Tuition Organization (STO) offers tax credits to individuals and contributes $1M to HFCS
Mazzuchelli grades 6,7, and 8 tuition is ~$5800, Wahlert tuition is ~$6000
ESA Qualifications
All new students to HFCS qualify for ESA's in 2023
2023-2024 Family of 4 earning $90,000 or less qualifies
2024-2025 Family of 4 earning $120,000 or less qualifies
2025-2026: 100% of students qualify
Does not cover homeschooling

Segment 3:
Faith life at Holy Family Catholic Schools
Mass is celebrated weekly
Adoration of the Holy Eucharist is offered for every grade
Reconciliation is offered several times per year.
Each day and each class begins with prayer
Service to community is at every grade level
Retreats offered during year such as TEC, Chi Rho
Teaching Word of God as armor for students
Control of smartphone usage
