The real secret
Is that if you pursue care with this guy, no advice or reasonable consultations are possible. Instead, you must agree to 3 months in-person in Atlanta. Just another cog in the medical industrial cookie cutter. Disappointing.

Very Informative
I started listening to this podcast because of a lymph node in my husband’s neck. Since then, he has unfortunately been diagnosed with cancer. Knowledge is power and I love this podcast.

Game Changer
I’m a Stage 4 BC mom with 3 young kids and I’m fighting and educating myself in every way possible. Finding Dr. Stegall has been such a gift and an amazing resource. It’s rare to find such a highly educated oncologist who is also willing to think outside of the standard of care to create better outcomes. He makes complicated topics understandable, gives practical insight into the myriad of ways cancer patients can complement their therapies, and more improbably, he just radiates hope. I can’t recommend this podcast enough!

Pretty Good - Not Perfect
Well produced and informative. It is not about controversy. It is about looking into the latest research. Many of the things presented here have helped me personally.
I was very very disappointed that he claimed in a recent podcast that it is a MYTH that surgery comes with the risk of spreading cancer. This is absolutely not a myth in certain situations. So don’t use him as your only source. But he is overall a great source of information.

Infinite information
My mom got diagnosed with stage 2 b pancreatic cancer and to be honest I never really educated myself about cancer until now. I still feel a little lost about this situation because I’m consistently thinking about how I can help my mom beat this. I’ve been listening to this channel everyday and I have a better understanding about her cancer and ways to change her and my life style to beat it and prevent it in the future. I am so happy I found this. Definitely recommend.

Helpful and Balanced
This podcast is balanced and helpful. I like the direct and clear approach to providing information. I appreciate that he is willing to change his mind and found the keto to vegetarian diet switch interesting. Overall the information presented is a great tool when being diagnosed with cance. A Lot of Good Information, but a Couple Caveats
I have used an integrative approach for my cancer treatment successfully and have consulted a number of top practitioners. I have used many of the modalities Dr. Stegall describes and think he does a good job of educating people about all the options that their oncologist will not tell them about. I have two caveats about his recommendations: first he makes a strong statement against pharmaceutical immune therapies like Herceptin. Rather than talking about how these therapies have saved people’s lives and the many ways an integrative practitioner can enhance their effectiveness with natural substances (research studies available in peer-reviewed journals), he discounts them completely. On that basis alone I would not trust him implicitly. The other issue if his advocating the book “The China Study.” The authors have been widely criticized for cherry picking the data to support vegan beliefs. Everyone is different in terms of how they metabolize nutrients. Some people do well on vegan diets short term, but many do not. He also made the statement that you can get all the nutrients from a vegan diet. This is absolutely not true: you can’t get vitamin B12, preformed vitamin A, the essential fatty acid EPA, or heme iron. The vegetable forms of vitamin A, omega-3 fatty acids, and iron are poorly absorbed and poorly converted to the forms our body needs. And for most people it’s very difficult to eat enough vegetable protein without ending up with a very high carbohydrate diet because most vegetable proteins contain carbohydrates as well. Dr.Stegall’s last episode about recommended reading (The China Study and other vegan diet proponent) has turned me off his podcast. Instead I recommend the podcast OnCancer Health as well as 5 to Thrive (on iHeart Radio) for a more balanced approach.

Timely info
Just happened upon this pod cast by chance. Lucky me, for I have zombie cells of the prostate, cancer. With a health dose of skepticism, I distrust conventional cancer treatment. Seeing too many friends succumb to conventional. I would prefer to not go down that path, but to have five more quality years than to have two torturous years under conventional treatment. I see hope now to accomplish this goal. I was dreading looking for an oncologist, now I will be looking for an integrative oncologists with this perspective. I see hope now.

Hope for cancer patients
Dr Stegall is going to bring so much light and hope to cancer patients with his calm, compassionate and comforting way of relating and explaining the research that can potentially change their lives. I look forward to listening to all of his episodes as one of his cancer patients myself. People need to need to know that there are more options out there besides just full-blown chemo, radiation and hormone therapy. Those things have their place but are only SOME of the tools in our toolbox. I’m excited that so many will be reached with this podcast!!!
