Joe is a former accountant for the Colorado Cross Disability Coalition, and served as a delegate for then-Senator Barack Obama in 2008 via the Democrats with Disabilities organization. Joe contracted polio as a child, and in this episode he and Brenda discuss his childhood, his experiences in the education system, the concept of "mainstreaming", and other topics.
