Are you nervous? It’s easy to look at the state of the world right now and feel anxious, overwhelmed, and even afraid. With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, upcoming U.S. election, economic uncertainty, racial tension and unrest, and chaotic fall school semester, many of us are feeling on edge.
In this episode, Pastor Danny gives us four reasons why we do not need to be afraid, even in the midst of these unsettling events and issues.
1. Believe that something good will come from this.
2. Believe that God is behind this.
3. Believe that God controls the elements.
4. Believe that death is nothing for those who follow Jesus.
Bible verses mentioned:
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.” Romans
“That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, ‘Let us go over to the other side.’ Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, ‘Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?’ He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, ‘Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?’ They were terrified and asked each other, ‘Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!’” Mark
“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?’” John
“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Philippians
“I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.” Psalm
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil,
for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm
