The first transmissions of the saga begin with Jisto (ages 13, 15, 17), a young Velan who was chosen to participate in a youth program to talk with someone from the planet Heimavinna, and Irja (ages 14, 16, 18). Irja is from Heimavinna and is her planets representative in the program. Introductions are made and we start to learn about their lives on two separated worlds. Each transmission is roughly 1 year apart, resulting in two years aging for both Irja and Jisto.
