John mentions only Mary Magdalen coming to the tomb where Jesus is buried, early on Sunday morning, but the other Gospel writers mention other women are also present. Mary, upon finding the large stone covering the tomb was not in place, runs to tell Peter and John what had happened and supposing that thieves had taken the body. Later, after Peter and John leave, Mary remaining at the tomb turns to see who she thinks is a gardener caring for the the tombs. But it is Jesus, the risen Lord and He says, “Mary” and instantly Mary knows this person is Jesus.
