Some of those who witnessed the miraculous resurrection of Lazarus believed in Jesus, but some of them did not and even reported to the religious authorities in Jerusalem what had happened. This continuous activity of Jesus alarmed them as it might mean the Romans might come against them because of Jesus. Caiaphas, the high priest, that it would be better for one man to die to prevent an event wherein many would die. In this, Caiaphas became a prophet, though unwittingly, to the crucifixion of Jesus. This was an especially critical moment as great throngs of observant Jews were coming to Jerusalem for the Passover Feast.
