The miracles stirred up the crowds and they set out to find Him. They found Him in Capernaum, the village Jesus is thought to have moved to. It is noted that Jesus never alluded, in any way, to either the feeding of the 5,000 or the walking on water. They were seeking Jesus for material benefit. But Jesus tells the people to do the “work” of God, which is to believe Him whose He has put His seal. He warns then not to work for that which perishes. Miracles do not yield saving faith. Salvation in Jesus produces something far deeper and more significant.
