Social media has promised a society of connectedness. The ability to communicate with anyone, anywhere at any time. This would surly mean people would be more connected than ever right?
The short answer is no.
we are currently living through a mental health crisis. one that's driven by loneliness, depression and anxiety. all emotions that are natural to humans, but they have now become our baseline. instead of feeling the full spectrum of human emotions, and our baseline being fullness. We now live in a perpetual state of negative emotions.
and this societal state of being correlates with the rise of social media. can't be a coincidence right?
