Former Michigan Cross Country and Track athlete Jena Metwalli's story is all about trusting the process, finding joy in what you do, working hard and believing in yourself. Coming from a small high school in North Carolina, Jena had no idea that she would graduate as a Big Ten scorer, regional qualifier, and make national teams in both cross country and track. But rather than shy away from the challenge, she went all in and continued to improve throughout her entire career (something that is difficult to do in the sport of running). Jena talks about the moment she learned to advocate for herself, her experience on the team at Michigan, and how she found her passion for public policy, leading her to her government consulting job in D.C. today.

Maddy and Jena reminisce about their college days, and talk about the bond that forms between teammates. Jena discusses what the transition to life after college sports is like, including running her first marathon, learning how to climb, and exploring her creative side. You'll enjoy getting to know Jena- the ultimate teammate, friend and someone you can always count on no matter what.
