The reasons vary, the changes can be small or large, and there's no wrong answer when it comes to using or not using a Stage Name! It can be as simple as people mispronouncing their given name enough that they simply go by the mispronunciation, it can be for privacy reasons, it can even be because their real name is too long to fit on a form!
