<p><strong>Catherine Auld</strong> is Assistant Director of Economic Regeneration for the City Council of Sunderland, the District of Columbia's sister city in the United Kingdom. She has led Sunderland’s engagement with international partners, including Washington, DC since 2006. The city of Sunderland started their artistic relationship with the District through the Artomatic event, which brought artists from Sunderland to DC. The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities Sister Cities grant program has since supported numerous cultural exchanges between DC and Sunderland, and the other sister cities of the District.</p>
