In episode 31 of telling their stories, Team Performance and Defensive Line Coach for the Guelph Gryphons football team, Adam Kania, expresses his thoughts on the mental health conversation. Kania joined the Guelph Gryphon coaching staff in June 2019. He is a former St. FX X-Man (BA. Canadian History) and Waterloo Warrior (Masters of Arts, History). He also spent a year in the CFL with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2008. TACKLE it Health & Wellness Society bring to you “Telling their stories” - an interview-based podcast with survivors of suicide, as well as families/friends of Canadian high school and university aged football players who have passed by suicide or who are dealing with mental health challenges.  Guest speakers will also include mental health professionals, sport psychologists, and other notable football personalities.These conversations are a reminder that we are not alone. We hope that these discussions will help honour the memories of those no longer with us, as well as give a voice to those who are still struggling. We also aim to eliminate the stigma associated with mental illness among football players.
