In episode 18 of telling their stories, Natalie Turpin gives professional insight and direction as to the mental health of our young people in schools today, what to look for, how to interact with teens and pre-teens, and advice on ways to connect both individually and within society. Turpin has a background in social work and is a registered social worker. She is also a registered clinical counsellor. She holds a Masters in Counseling Psychology and has been in the field for approximately 15 years, working predominantly with youth as well as an abuse counselor. Turpin works in the interior of British Columbia. TACKLE it Health & Wellness Society bring to you “Telling their stories” - an interview-based podcast with survivors of suicide, as well as families/friends of Canadian high school and university aged football players who have passed by suicide or who are dealing with mental health challenges.  Guest speakers will also include mental health professionals, sport psychologists, and other notable football personalities.These conversations are a reminder that we are not alone. We hope that these discussions will help honour the memories of those no longer with us, as well as give a voice to those who are still struggling. We also aim to eliminate the stigma associated with mental illness among football players.
