Śrī Jīva Gosvāmī refers to various statements that seem to contradict the paribhāṣā of Kṛṣṇa being Svayaṁ Bhagavān. These statements are found both in the Bhāgavata as well as in other Purāṇas, but Jīva begins by interpreting verses from the Bhāgavata in the light of the paribhāṣā principle that Kṛṣṇa is Svayaṁ Bhagavān.
