– Beware of the “leaven of the Pharisees.”

– Jesus speaks of the rich man with a barn full of grain to emphasize consecration.

– “If the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.”

– Jesus heals a man with dropsy or edema. He teaches humility with the parable of The Great Supper.

– It is important for us to transcend the mindset of only doing good because we expect to receive a reward.

– Those who follow Jesus must forsake all else. 

– Luke 15 has three stories of lost things: a sheep, a piece of silver, and the prodigal son.

– The parable of the unjust steward conveys the importance of taking responsibility for oneself.

– Lazarus the beggar is received into the arms of Abraham after death, while the rich man remains unknown.

– The parable of the unprofitable servant and the story of the ten lepers. We can increase faith by doing our duty and having gratitude.

– Jesus testifies that He is the Resurrection and the Life and raises Lazarus from the dead.
