East Timor’s President and Nobel Peace Laureate, Dr Jose
Ramos-Horta, spoke at UNSW as part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Diplomacy Training Program which he founded at UNSW in 1989.In
his speech President Ramos-Horta notes that modern communications mean corrupt regimes can no longer commit barbarities against their own people and expect to get away with it; he also asks the question of where $3 billion in aid to East Timor has gone.
