Women and girls represent half of the world’s population and, therefore, half of its potential. Globally, 750 million women and girls were married before the age of 18. In 18 countries husband's can legally prevent their wives from working and there are many similar statistics which demonstrates the injustice towards women.Gender equality, besides being a fundamental human right, is essential to achieve peaceful societies, with full human potential and sustainable development. Society still values women as wives and mothers first, and towards the end of the list as economic powerhouses.
