In June 2018, Frank Gilday and six others huddled under a boardwalk while a squall roared over New Smyrna Beach inlet with lightning popping everywhere.  Some ran, some huddled, and in this case, Frank and his friends were the unlucky group who took the brunt of a damaging lightning strike.
