Facebook Algorithm and Building an Email List
How many people are currently on your email list? When was the last time they heard from you, and what is your open rate? If you have no idea what I am talking about, then listen up!
In the online world, the success of your business is dependent upon the strength of your email list. This is well known among most online businesses that are very successful. Having a solid email list allows you to get your brand in front of more people, on a consistent basis. This is extremely important for when you want to sell something such as a course, services, or your affiliate links.
If you are an online wellness business, then it is extremely important to have a strong email list so you can stand out from the crowd of other online wellness professionals. You have direct access to your audience by placing your content directly in front of them on a weekly basis. If you want to learn more about building consistent content, go back to episode 2 to learn more.
What about the new Facebook Algorithm?
The other week Facebook announced that they were going to make the newsfeed more about community, so they would show you more posts from your friends and family. This put a lot of businesses in panic mode as they were worried about what this means for their businesses.
I talk through my opinion about the algorithm change and how to work with the new changes to optimize your business.
My Goal For You:
Even if you only have 1 person currently on your email list, it is important to start building up your list. Make this a priority within your business, and see if you can increase your subscribers in the next month by 10%!
And if you ever find something that you are currently struggling with in your business, message me at summitforwellness.com/messenger

Finding the Confidence to Say NO
Have you ever been in a situation where you wanted to say no, but ended up saying yes? This is a scenario most people have been in at least once, whether it is in their personal life or in their business life. Why is it so much easier to say yes to something than it is to say no? It can be very difficult to find the confidence to say no.
This is why we need some strategies in order to fight off the overwhelm of “yes”. So many professionals get caught in this trap of not being able to say “no”, so it is time to make a stand for yourself.
One of the strategies is to develop your priority list for what you want to actually do within your life and business.
My Goal For You:
It is time to develop your priority list, and to start discovering ways to have the confidence to say no. You want time in your business to focus on the areas that actually need your focus, and not on people or events that take away from your priorities. You can start to put your foot down for what you don't want to do, and start doing the things that excite you enough to say “F Yeah!”
“Being able to communicate “NO” is a reflection that you are in the driver's seat of your life”

How to Attract and Retain New Clients
When branching off on your own, one of the biggest questions to ask is “How can I get people through my doors to work with me?” If you don't have a plan to bring patients and clients to you, and you don't have any other ways to make income, then how will your business ever survive?
It is important to have a plan on how to bring in new clients, but it is equally important to have systems in place to have great retention. If you have 100 people come in, and 100 people never come back again, then this isn't great for business!
My Goal For You:
It is time to build a network of professionals around you who can refer people to you, and who you can refer out to if something is outside of your scope of practice.
My goal is to help you come up with creative ideas to bring people into your care, then to have systems in place to retain these clients so they feel well taken care of.
Have you ever gone to a place that felt really welcoming, and was a place you would want to continue coming back to? If you answered yes, that is what you should create with your own business.
And if you ever find something that you are currently struggling with in your business, message me at summitforwellness.com/messenger

1:30 – I currently have a 90% retention rate with clients at the end of the first year working with them
3:10 – The importance of having confidence as you work with someone
4:45 – Why you need to have a 30 second elevator speech
5:30 – Elevator speech should be enticing and should catch someone's attention
6:20 – Use your profession as a way to open up conversation
7:20 – Build a professional network around you. Reach out to different professionals in the wellness industry
9:15 – It is better to collaborate as wellness professionals instead of having conflict between professions
11:35 – Offer to put on a free workshop for another company or clinic
13:15 – Ask other practitioners what their client base is struggling with that you could help with
16:10 – Make new clients feel at home and feel as though you are a trustworthy person

The Importance of Content Creation
All of us wellness practitioners want to focus on helping the people who are standing in front of us. Not many of us really enjoy having to go through the content creation process, and I even know some practitioners who have fired marketing consultants because the marketing consultant wanted them to create content biweekly.
The content creation process can be a very daunting task, but it doesn't need to be. The reality is, if you know what to look for to come up with ideas for content, then the content creation process comes very easy.
My Goal For You:
Regular content is an important way of reaching your audience and staying in front of potential clients.
Which is why it is so important to get content out at least once a week.
My goal for you is to listen to your current client-base and starting creating content around their pain points. If you can set aside 1 day per month to write, record, or video 4 different content pieces, then you are already a huge step ahead of most professionals.
And if you ever find something that you are currently struggling with in your business, message me at summitforwellness.com/messenger

How My Own Business Came to Be
Many people in the wellness industry come to a point in their career where they are tired of working for someone else, and want to create a wellness practice based around their vision of helping people. Many of these professionals are very good at their jobs, but have no clue how to run a business. I was in the very same boat when I branched off to create my own business.
The statistics show that most small businesses fail within the for year. When I first started my business, like many others I had no idea what the heck I was doing. If I hadn't been working side jobs to supplement my income, I would have fallen into that same statistical pattern.
After years of falling flat on my face, and learning just about every way of doing something wrong, I started to discover what actually works well with running a business. It is all these trial and errors that brought me to this conclusion:
Most wellness practitioners need help with starting their business.
Raise your hand if this statement rings true. As a wellness practitioner, I want to help people, I don't want to have my face deep in paperwork trying to figure out how to keep this business alive. I know many of you feel the same way, and that is what brought on the idea of this podcast.
My Goal For You:
My goal is to help you get past the struggles of starting a business, and focus more on finding and retaining clients and patients, bringing in an income that allows you to focus strictly on your business instead of having to find side jobs, and to have more successful wellness businesses that focus on improving the health of the people standing directly in front of them.
Does this sound like a good plan for you?
Listen in to our podcast to learn some tried and proven strategies to make you successful.

10:30 – My first couple years of business I really wasn't making any money
12:15 – Start to think of your ideal client avatar, and think about niching down your business
15:15 – Once you figure out who you truly want to help, that is when you start to become more successful, and the business becomes fun
17:30 – My goal is to help wellnesspreneurs to get past the pain points of starting a business, and to be successful right away
18:10 – Step 1 is to have caring interactions with your clients and patients
