Subconscious Realms Episode 217 - Tantric Pantheon PT5 - The Smoky One - Dhumavati & Goddess Who Paralyses - Bagalamukhi.
Ladies & Gentlemen, on this Episode of Subconscious Realms we welcome back Jin The Ninja for Tantric Pantheon PT5 - The Smoky One, Goddess of strife, loneliness, unfulfilled desires and inauspicious things - Dhumavati & The Goddess Who Paralyzes enemies (Suspension) - Bagalamukhi.
Jin comes in Heavy with yet another Mind-Blowing Episode🔥🔥🔥.
Goddess Dhumavati is depicted as an old and ugly widow. She is thin, unhealthy with smokey complexion. Unlike other Mahavidya(s), She is unadorned with jewelry. She wears old, dirty clothes and has disheveled hair.
She is portrayed with two hands. In one of her trembling hands, She holds a winnowing basket and makes either boon conferring gesture or knowledge giving gesture with the other hand. The boon conferring gesture and knowledge giving gesture are known as Varada Mudra and Chin Mudra respectively. She rides on a horseless chariot bearing an emblem of a crow.
She is the only one of the Mahavidyas without her consort.
Devi Bagalamukhi is the one who rules over evils by paralyzing their power of speech, mind, and body. In many texts related to Shaktism, she is often linked to yellow color as she dressed up and ornamented in yellow clothes, jewelry, and flowers. Even the devotees of Bagalamukhi Devi wear yellow outfits while worshipping her. Thus, called her by the name “Pitambari Mata,” where “Pitam” means yellow, and “bari “means clothes.
There are ten tantric goddesses in Sanatana dharma, also known as Dasa Mahavidya (Ten Great Wisdoms), and Devi Bagalamukhi is the eighth of the ten Mahavidyas. She is one of the enraged forms of Adi Parashakti. Her name Bagla comes from the Sanskrit word valga (bridle), which later transformed to vagla and then Bagla. And Mukha means face.
