In todays episode I am joined by Kathleen Fullerton who is an educator, juvenile justice advocate, and community organizer. Kathleen had been working as an educator for over 20 years. For the last 11 years she has been the Project Coordinator for Hope Partnership which is a youth created and youth driven organisation who work with young offenders in a correctional facility. They bring in community leaders and volunteers to deliver workshops in the Arts, Life Skills, and Transition Services. We talk about how can you teach leadership for the digital age for people who don’t have access while in the facility, how do you help develop leadership in young offenders, and how can you prepare these young people for the digital world once they leave the facility? Kathleen specializes in youth development, program development, and incorporating the principals of Positive Human Development and Restorative Justice into personal life and programs. In her spare time Kathleen enjoys writing, research, connecting with her culture learning Gaeilge, and being in outdoor spaces with her husband, her rescue pooch Jack, and grand children including visits and adventuring with her grown children. This is a great, thought provoking episode which helped me to think about the digital divide in a new context. Podcast edited by Victoria Spooner
