Just a few days ago, the cycling world was shocked to learn that Katie Compton, the most decorated athlete in US cyclocross history, failed an out of season drug test last year.

We had the chance to sit down with Katie the day after news went public of the positive test, and her subsequent four year ban from cycling.

At SUPA, we want to introduce you to the humans behind the headlines, as Josh likes to say. With that in mind, this first half of our two-part interview with Katie is about her career, her love of cycling, what it was like to stick with it through the many challenges of two decades in professional racing as well as what is coming next in life after competition.

In the second half of our interview, which will air soon, we dive into the recent news of her positive test result, talk through what it has been like for her as an athlete to try to fight a ban for a substance she denies intentionally taking, and we get her take on the challenges involved in keeping the sport of cycling clean.
