During the period of my life when I had a stammer I was very much a loner. If, for example, I had a choice of whether to go to a social event, I would usually choose not to, due to the fear of stammering. I missed out on so much, and this made me even more eager to find a solution, to help me to overcome the stammer.
I had become a loner; a person that other people no doubt thought of as rather weird. And this was at a time of my life when I cared what people thought of me.
I had to break the cycle, and at the age of twenty-two I was able to overcome my stammer, and that was when my life could truly begin.
